Industry Expertise
Understanding your vertical industry is key“There is no wealth like knowledge, no poverty like ignorance.” Gautama Buddha
At St. Charles Communications we have expertise across industry sectors. Over the years we have served clients in the real estate, healthcare, technology and professional services sectors. Having opened an office in the Washington DC area, we are also working with government contractors looking to move up the ladder with the federal government.
Real Estate
Our heritage goes back to New York City in the 1960’s when St. Charles forerunner Gerry Freeman worked with such real estate luminaries Leona Helmsley, Julien J. Studley and Fred Trump, father of the current president. After Freeman moved to Denver in the mid-1980’s he brought his expertise in real estate PR to Colorado, representing the Coors and Stevinson families and numerous west-side developers.
Freeman’s mentee, James Wall, took over the helm in 2001, representing Turner Construction during the building of what is now known as Empower Field at Mile High (stadium of the Denver Broncos) and the building of a new atrium and library at Columbine High School after the shootings there.
St. Charles now represents developers, management companies, REITs, construction companies, architects and many other property-related entities in their marketing and communications efforts with stakeholders of all kinds.
Technology
At St. Charles, we are excited to ride on our client’s fuel-efficient shuttle buses, and witness another client turn an older, inefficient elderly care home into a building that generates as much energy as it uses. In other words, our team is comprised of technology enthusiasts with expertise in many emerging and established ventures in the software, clean technology, efficiency-tech and energy/water saving technology arenas.
St. Charles has worked extensively with the US Department of Energy (DOE) and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). In one major project, St. Charles promoted NREL’s two groundbreaking large, net-zero office buildings that were touted at the time as the “greenest office buildings in the world”. The resulting media coverage, garnered by St. Charles, helped secure a Presidential Award for the DOE executive who oversaw the project.
Our technology work has driven growth for our clients, attracted capital, established brands, helped create cohesive and excited client teams and teed companies up for acquisition or IPO. In other words we are results-driven tech aficionados dedicated to meeting the needs of your business.
Healthcare
With the healthcare industry growing at a steady clip, St. Charles is pleased to offer communications and marketing expertise to healthcare professionals of all stripes. We have represented health insurance companies, healthcare non-profits, medical device ventures and small biopharma companies. With the landscape changing at a steady clip, it’s important for healthcare ventures to be on their toes when communicating with stakeholders, whether they be patients, members, investors, customers or the government.
Professional Services
At St. Charles accountants are dynamic, lawyers are fascinating and M&A specialists have compelling stories to tell:
We take pride in the stellar media campaigns we have conducted for professional services organizations.
At our behest, law firms, financial advisers, architects, investment banks, insurance agents and more have had their stories told in media spanning the spectrum from “heavyweight” publications (New York Times, Wall Street Journal) to trade journals to business blogs.
And in a public relations world where media campaigns are often fleeting, St. Charles is proud of the longevity of its professional services client base. Three of our professional services clients have been with us between five and seven years each, a lifetime in PR terms!
Government Contracting
Government contractors run the gamut from small IT service ventures to Northrop Grumman and Boeing. Each has their own communications needs – stories to tell their customer (the US government) their shareholders or their employees.
At St. Charles, we’ve worked with government contractors large and small to tell their stories. We’ve done so for a range of reasons: in order to stem the side of some bad publicity; to growing from a smaller contractor into the realms of large, multi-million dollar contracts; to educating civil servants in highly technical arenas to ensure a contractor’s expertise is widely known and understood in the halls of government.
“James and his team understand brand strategy at a deep level. The quality of work, particularly the consistency in brand message coupled with true creativity, is excellent.”
